Our Adventure Guide Program has been operating out of New Zealand since Pure Exploration’s inception. It’s home to spectacular scenery and is the ultimate destination for adrenaline-pumping activities. From technical skills to emergency safety and group dynamics, this comprehensive course will give you confidence to navigate, hike, climb and guide in the outdoors.

WHY NEW ZEALAND?

You will have the opportunity to gain guiding qualifications, industry experience and outdoor skills in this three month adventure in the South Island of New Zealand. New Zealand is on every adventure traveller’s bucket list, with  awe-inspiring mountains, empty beaches and vast landscapes, providing the ultimate classroom for outdoor adventure and personal growth whilst making awesome lifelong memories. The jewel in the crown is Queenstown, and that is where Pure Exploration was born, and where our New Zealand Adventure Guide Program is based. The Adventure Guide Program offers outdoor training, NZOIA qualifications and an epic adventure travel experience.

 

This twelve week program is broken down into different key areas that focus on building your repertoire of skills and broadening your outdoors experiences. Your time will be split between intensive practical and theoretical training, you’ll also be trained to a standard that is recognised globally.

 

  • Month 1: Bush and Rock Climbing fundamentals
  • Month 2: Building practical skills and Outdoor First Aid Training
  • Month 3: Industry networking events and assessments

The Adventure Guide Program New Zealand is suitable for anyone who wants to embark on a career to become a global outdoor guide, or simply to challenge their own understanding of what it means to take on the wild. You will gain new skills and NZOIA qualifications to confidently guide your peers in both bush and rock.

Prerequisites

  • Fluent in English
  • 18-35 years old at the time of program start
  • Comfortable hiking with a 15kg pack
  • A confident swimmer
