Queenstown Orientation

Get to know your program mates and your base camp – the stunning adventure capital of the world, Queenstown! Spend a few days getting familiar with the local area, learn local customs and culture, do a bit of administration, and fully absorb exactly what you’ll get up to over the next 12 weeks.

Introduction to Adventure Skills & Leadership

Time for an introduction to the disciplines that will become your bread and butter for the next eight weeks. You'll get an in-depth briefing and training on hiking, guiding and climbing/biking/canyoning, giving you the core skills needed for the training ahead. Not to mention exploring some stunning local sights along the way!

You’ll begin developing technical skills in rope systems, rock climbing, and bush walking. We’ll build on your existing knowledge of equipment, weather, and nutrition, then introduce you to essential training in group management, risk analysis, and leadership.

Ski & Board Snow Clinics

Each week you will participate in included workshops and clinics to continuously improve your skiing, boarding or both!

These clinics are tailored to the differing levels and experience within the group, so you attend the clinic best suited to you.

From Tuning & Waxing, Steep Skiing, Moguls, Freestyle Park Skills, Off-Piste, Back Country, Slalom or general progression you're covered.

Whether an absolute rookie who has never seen snow before, or a seasoned pro, we will send you home better, faster, stronger and with EPIC video and photo evidence of the places you've skied, the tricks you've pulled or the adventures you've had.

Environmental Service

When you're among some of the worlds best natural environments, it's pretty cool to know you're giving something back. Our there doing your bit with a group of friends, and more importantly in nature herself, working with her.

Our environmental service component will either be one exciting block project, or a few days spread over your time in Queenstown. It can include working to support the alpine ecosystem, cleaning up rivers and lakes, or helping support native bird trusts with habitat restoration and bird care.

We aim for unique locations, unique service work, and interaction with wildlife or the environment in a meaningful way.

Snow Time!

On return from your Ultimate New Zealand Tour, and after your Queenstown Familiarization & Team Building, you will settle into a ski/board and sightseeing schedule.

Predominately skiing or riding the Remarkables or Coronet Peak Resorts, we also do trips to the Cardrona and Treble Cone Resorts.

No week is the same. You'll be having epic times in the snow, and heading off on sightseeing trips, or environmental or cultural exchange excursions.

Sightseeing & Cultural Exchange

Whether it's checking out lord of the rings, surfing with dolphins, hiking, exploring caves, jumping in rivers/gorges, learning how to do a Haka, cook in an underground earth oven or spotting Penguins at the beach..... each week you'll take a break from riding or skiing to head of on an active sightseeing adventure, or cultural activity.

Expand your Mind, Change your Perspective

As the program progresses we let you, the travelers have more and more of the control. The flexibility, adaptability and independent time are important parts of the Explorer programs!

This coupled with residential living, cooking for the group, shopping, looking after your accommodation, learning, experiencing, socializing and meeting the commitments of the program makes for a fun, dynamic and supported group approach to personal development!

The unique way we provide this opportunity is consistently a favorite, WOW factor and highlight of our participants, every time, and not normally achievable on itinerary based tour programs.

Snow Chasing Roadies

While we're skiing, why not head to some outrageously insanely scenic locations.

During the 'snow time' part of your explorer program, we embark on two adventures, to different more remote parts of the Southern Alps, in the South Island, into the big mountains, where there is some really small fields that pack a really big punch for fun and adventurous inbound skiing!

The scenery on the road, and at the destinations is awesome, the social scene is often Apres style, on the fields and the skiing - amazing!

You'll be ticking style points, numbers of fields visited, and scenery/travel boxes during these to escapes!

This is a sample itinerary. Modules may occur in a different order due to weather conditions or scheduling requirements
