You’ll get an in-depth briefing and training on hiking and guiding, giving you the core skills needed for the training ahead. Not to mention exploring some stunning local sights along the way!

You’ll begin developing technical skills in navigation and bushwalking, day hikes, overnight hikes, bushcraft, interpretation, flora and fauna.

As your intro to Rock climbing we cover top-roping, abseiling, safety, equipment, intro to lead climbing, systems, transitions.

We’ll build on your existing knowledge of equipment, weather, and nutrition, then introduce you to essential training in group management, risk analysis, and leadership.

It’s time to start putting your skills and knowledge to the test, as we start to push your limits and see if we can create some outdoor diamonds!

At this point of the program, we take it up a notch. It’s time to test your limits and push those new skills. We take you to a few more challenging locations where you’ll have to pull together as a team to get through, and where you’ll really start to see the value in ensuring processes are followed and back-up plans are in place!

Bush modules include Multi-day hikes, trip planning, practicing leading and getting mileage for your logbook

Rock modules include consolidation and practice of skills learnt in module 1 and 2 and incorporating leading others.

We know that 3 months may sound like a long time to be training and exploring. But what’s great about this program is that every week is different. Your time will be split between a range of activities, to ensure you have all the technical skills and experience needed to succeed, but also enough time to chill, sleep in, visit local restaurants, grab some gear and go practice your new skills on your own or with your mates etc.

Each week will include*

  • 5 days of Technical Training
  • 1 day of Self-Directed Learning
  • 1 day for Admin or as Free Day

*The order of days will change each week and as your training progresses. This is simply a general outline.
